Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials say early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for details.
An important representative stated the incident made him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he posted on social media, recalling the killing of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
